Biden Breaks Down Remembering Hospital Visit By Steelers Player

“WTAE’s Jennifer Miele reported that [Democratic VP candidate Joe] Biden surprised some in the crowd of 400 when he revealed a personal connection to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his speech, Biden told the story of the 1972 car accident that killed his wife and daughter and injured his two sons. Biden explained how Rocky Bleier paid a Christmas visit his sons in the hospital.

“‘They each had separately a football on their bed, and uh, excuse, me anyway, guys where did you get the ball? They said Daddy, Rocky Bleier gave it to us,’ Biden said.”
